Human’s ingenuity is limitless when it comes to torturing innocent
animals for their cheep and disgusting entertainment.
A species that enjoys watching panicked and helpless creatures, and worst,
putting them in such horrible situations on purpose just for fun – doesn’t
deserve any more chances.
For nearly 74 years in California, USA, at the Calaveras County Fair the Jumping Frog
competition occurs intermittently throughout this 3-day event. It exploits frogs for
human entertainment.
Rules of the Game: The rules of this archaic, cruel, no-holds-barred competition require
that each frog is dropped onto a round, 8-inch start pad, from where he/she is expected
to produce the best three jumps of her/his life in the hope of winning the $5,000 prize
for her/his human 'jockey'. Once on the start pad,
the 'jockeys' are allowed to poke and prod the frog until she/he makes his/her initial
jump. After the frog leaves the start pad, the jockey will then hurl abuse at the frog
by screaming at him/her at extremely close range, or slamming hands or stomping feet
on the ground on either side of the frog in the hopes of scaring her/him into making
her/him remaining two jumps as long and far as possible.
The Frogs Always Lose: Often, the frogs will jump well beyond the boundaries of the
stage in a panicked effort to escape. If not scooped up by human 'frog catchers'
standing by with large fishing nets, the disoriented animals will often jump into
the large crowd of spectators, into nearby equipment, or turn and jump the 'wrong'
direction into jockeys or other onlookers who may inadvertently step on them.
Additionally, the competition takes place on a large, outdoor, unshaded, concrete
slab stage during the heat of late spring. The drying heat of the sun combined
with constant handling by humans is extremely damaging to these animals, as their
permeable skin makes them highly susceptible to disease and infection.
Each year prior to the Calaveras County fair, groups of avid competitors who dub
themselves 'frog teams' remove more than 300 frogs from swamps and bogs in several
surrounding counties. Many of these frogs are then confined to boxes when not being
forced to 'train' for the competition. Similar to greyhound racing, it has been
documented that, in the past, some frogs have even tested positively for performance-enhancing chemicals.
‘Think about the frogs, how they feel? How would you feel being imprisoned in a
dark little box, released only to jump race for someone’s amusement?.
With this as entertainment, milk, eggs
and flesh as food, animals’ skins
as shoes, animals’ fur as coat, animals' wool as blankets etc.,
humans exploit everything, Including each other, as a way of habit.
Creatures that have much less “bad” habits are annihilated. So why humans,
as the worst creature in all the world’s history by far, is an exception. There
are no justifications.
The human race is the world’s biggest pest. Annihilate it!
